Thanga
Magan...contrary to all the bad reviews, the movie is actually not bad at all.
Let me clarify. If people watch too many TV serials, they may have a dislike
for this movie. It is 'serial'ish in pockets even for a person like me who is
totally cut off from serials. That is the main observation on the negative
remarks. Otherwise, the movie itself keeps you glued.
Dhanush - he has been maintaining his figure so well (pun
intended) that Amy has to keep up to the pace. But this skinny thingy is a
bundle of talent. His performance has always been impressive and complete.
Amy - why? Why Amy? Probably she is the only one who
would agree for the romantic scenes which violates 'Indian' heroines' on-screen
moral standards (if that still exists). Though she has done a decent job, still
somewhere it doesn't gel.
Samantha - I have never seen a beautiful face made up so
horribly that she looks like a sick mannequin. Absolutely no expressions which
adds to her dumb made up face. Horrible! Who the hell dubbed for her? Total
disaster.
Radhika - awesome and she makes it worth the watch. KS
Ravi Kumar has also done extremely well.
Anirudh - good man! The mosquito-sized music director
whose only competition is the hero of the movie, has done a pleasant score. In
some scenes his rr (or the silence in the background) magnifies the weight of
the scene (Ilayaraja style).
Overall, general time pass with a couple of
strong messages.
